Swift Codes, also called BIC Codes, are used for International Wire Transfers. While routing number in USA are used for domestic wire transfers, swift codes are used for incoming international fund transfers. If you want to send or receive money from outside of united states to a bank account of PNC Bank NA in USA, your bank will ask for the swift code of PNC Bank NA.
